Once you see it you can't unsee it

Brace yourselves for another bout of confusion.

Since Instagram user leonardhoespams uploaded a photo of a pair of legs on Monday, Twitter users were quick to point out something odd.

Have a look:

What do you see?

Of course the Internet had to go into a frenzy:

Bizarre optical illusion divides social media
PHOTO: Bizarre optical illusion divides social media… so can YOU spot what is wrong with this pair of legs?
The optical illusion is the latest picture to confuse internet users.
People struggled to work out whether the lady's legs had streaks of paint on them, or whether they were oily Image is latest in a long line of optical brainteasers to baffle the internet.
Whilst many users were quick to point out that the legs were shiny or plastic, others corrected them by pointing out that the legs are actually covered in white paint marks.

Indeed, on closer inspection, it becomes obvious that there's several streaks of paint running down the thighs, as well as on the knees. Instagram user @leonardhoespams, who originally posted the snap, confirmed that it was in fact paint on her legs.

This is not the first time netizens have appeared divided over an optical illusion.

In February last year, a photo of a striped dress became the topic of debate. People couldn't decide if the dress was blue and black or white and gold.

It later emerged that the dress, was in fact blue and black.

Of course it all boils down to a matter of angling and perspective, but reactions from optical illusions do confirm one thing - that we humans have a large visual spectrum.

The lady (Instagram user @leonardhoespams) who uploaded it pointed out that the legs were, in fact, covered in paint.
